Experts suggest that China should implement energy marketization as soon as possible

How to improve the efficiency of energy use in our country and reduce energy consumption so as to achieve sustainable social development? At the Boao Forum “Energy and Sustainable Development” forum held on the 20th, government officials and entrepreneurs from home and abroad agreed that China should implement energy market pricing as soon as possible and use market-based means to guide energy conservation.
Gao Chengzhi, president of Australia’s largest oil and gas public company, Woodside Energy Co., Ltd., China, believes that the sustainable development opportunities in Asia and even in the world depend to a large extent on China’s sustainable development capabilities. The problem now is that although China's 96% retail price is already based on market demand, it is not completely market-oriented in terms of energy prices. The market-led price is an important information and signal that will directly affect consumers and effectively guide manufacturers.
Woodside is working on a costly LNG cooperation project with Guangdong and building a $400 million LNG receiving station in Shenzhen. Gao Chengzhi pointed out in his work that the Chinese company is facing problems that are domestic. The price of natural gas and electricity, one is the price in the international market, the dual-track price system has made Chinese companies vulnerable to the import competition for clean energy in the international market.
Wang Keming, vice chairman of China Petrochemical Corporation, cited a series of significant phenomena: As the price of China’s aviation fuel is much lower than the international market, many international flights’ aircraft are focused on refuelling at our airports; in the first half of this year, the amount of fuel in Hong Kong A drop of 1/3, there are a large number of Hong Kong cars to Shenzhen every day, refueling; international crude oil prices are getting higher and higher, but the large-displacement cars and SUVs in the domestic market are still selling well... This series of phenomena all indicate that market prices are guiding people The consumption model has played a leading role.
Zhang Yue, president of Broad Air, believes that it is precisely because of the absence of current price guidance that the use of domestic clean energy and the production of energy-saving products are difficult. At Bangkok Airport and Madrid Airport, a new type of non-electric air conditioners are used - air conditioners that use natural gas, solar energy, and even waste heat from power generation to cool them. In Japan and South Korea, non-electric air conditioners account for 80% of the market for large air-conditioning products. In China, this market share is less than 20%. Why can't China's air-conditioning energy-saving products develop? In Japan, the government encourages and supports energy-saving products through taxes, subsidies, and other factors, so that the purchase of a non-electric air-conditioning device requires only 20-30% of the money.
Zhang Yue said that if China can limit the available energy of each building like Europe, if people can get effective guidance of market prices, then people are choosing home air conditioners, curtains in the living room, and the displacement of cars. Both will have to consider the issue of product energy efficiency, and even buy a house to consider the size of the glass curtain wall.
The chairman of Germany's Degussa company, Fei Xide, said meaningfully that the government should use market factors such as taxation and prices to give the people an opportunity to choose energy conservation.
