Process Information
(1) Anoxic Pool
Sewage enters the anoxic pool, along with return sludge from the MBR pool. The primary function of the anoxic pool is denitrification, where denitrifying bacteria use organic matter in the sewage as a carbon source. The return sludge from the MBR pool contains a large number of NO3- and NO2-, which are reduced to N2 and released into the air. BOD concentration continues to decrease, and the NO3- concentration is deeply reduced. In this pool, we install a submersible mixer.
(2) Aerobic Pool
In the aeration condition, there are large quantities of microorganisms and bacteria, phosphorus, and bacteria inside activated sludge. They degrade or adsorb water containing carbon, ammonia nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic pollutants to achieve the purpose of purifying water. In this pool, we install tube-type rubber porous gas distributors, so that it can reach a good oxygen transfer rate.
(3) MBR Pool
Choosing a membrane to purify sewage containing sludge, then it can get the purified water at the end. On one hand, the membrane can reject microbes inside the sewage, increasing the concentration of active sludge to a high level, allowing the biochemical degradation reaction of sewage to proceed more rapidly and completely. On the other hand, due to the high membrane purification of microbes, it ensures that the product water is clear and transparent, providing high-quality water production.
There are MBR membrane cells and they have water output, backwash, cleaning, and purging systems. MBR membrane purging (aeration) has two purposes: one is to oscillate the gas and water around the membrane to keep the membrane surface clean, and the second is to provide the oxygen required for biodegradation. With a high rejection function, all bacteria and suspended solids will be rejected inside the aeration tank, thus trapping nitrifying bacteria and enabling smooth and effective removal of ammonia. It also rejects larger molecular organics to extend the reactor residence time, maximizing degradation. The remaining sludge will be discharged by the sludge pump, which helps control the concentration of activated sludge and the sludge age.
(4) Disinfection / Pure Water Pool
The MBR product water still contains some viruses, so sterilization is required before final output. Usually, we inject chlorine or ClO2 into the water pipe when the water enters the pure water tank. (The disinfection part is optional.)
This pool will choose PE plastic material or carbon steel within the main treatment system.
(5) Sludge Discharge
The remaining sludge can be discharged by a sanitation truck. Because the sludge quantity is low after the MBR pool, usually the sludge discharge occurs every 3-6 months.
