On January 8th, the US media autoevolution calculated the sales data of the world's top car companies and concluded that the global sales champion was won by the Volkswagen Group in 2014, Toyota ranked second, and GM ranked third.
The Volkswagen Group's total sales in 2014 reached 9,919,305 units, which is very close to the milestone of 10 million units. Thanks to the sharing of the two brands of Audi and Skoda. Audi's 2014 sales increased by 9.3% year-on-year, and Skoda's sales increased by 10.2%, with strong growth in China.
Toyota's global sales in 2014 were 9,818,609 units, down 2.3% year-on-year. GM's annual sales volume was 8,017,844 units, down 0.2% year-on-year. Ranked third.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance sold 7,947,606 units in 2014, only 70,000 fewer than GM, ranking fourth. Hyundai Kia sold 7,550,383 units, up 4.1% year-on-year.
