The extreme environmental forklift designed by the inventors of Zhejiang University of Technology, Li Shu and Lu Chunfu, officially obtained the national patent (patent number: 200730337115.0) on September 3, 2008.
First of all, the forklift is designed to break through the traditional forklift driven by rubber tires, replaced by four independent triangular track wheels, which can be thought of in the extreme environment for carrying work. Secondly, the forklift cockpit is completely sealed with an oval transparent dome, so the design is still set for extreme environmental needs (there should be a chilled air conditioning and ventilation system inside the cockpit). Finally, the forklift uses a gray body in color, which should be suitable for operation in the extreme snow and ice environment and military camouflage.
The forklift gantry should be a multi-section gantry that maximizes lift. The four independent triangular track wheels determine that the forklift can only carry light items (should be within 2T) and lacks strong off-road functionality, but the advantages of lightweight handling on flat and hard ice and snow. Since the forklift is still conceptually designed, it will take time to really develop and produce.
