I made a trip to a fire in the 14th Battalion at 2934 W 25th Street. The incident involved a three-story lightweight building with fire on the second and third floors. Fire crews initially tried to make a push into the structure but were forced to pull back and go defensive for a short time. Engines 109, 23, and 107 were all dispatched and had working lines on the scene. I arrived about 15 minutes after the alarm was called.It was a challenging situation, and it's always interesting to see how quickly crews respond and adapt. The fire was well-advanced by the time I got there, so the focus was definitely on containment and preventing the spread.
