Cicero house fire 7-20-11

Cicero experienced a house fire yesterday afternoon, and local firefighter Josh Boyajian was on the scene, capturing some photos and sharing a detailed account of what happened. Cicero Fire Department responded to 2523 58th Avenue for a residential fire. Upon arrival, they noticed smoke coming from the basement. Engine 2 quickly stretched two lines and worked to bring the fire under control. I arrived after most of the flames had been extinguished, but the damage was still visible. Below are some images from the scene. ![Light smoke is visible in the gangway between two homes in Cicero. Josh Boyajian photo](#) *Light smoke is visible in the gangway between two homes in Cicero. It’s always a sobering reminder of how fast things can go wrong, and it’s reassuring to see the firefighters responding so swiftly.
