House fire in Hawthorn Woods, 5-25-16

On Wednesday night, May 25, 2016, firefighters from the Lake Zurich Fire Department responded to a house fire at 3160 Louise Court in Hawthorn Woods. The incident occurred during a severe thunderstorm that was sweeping through the area. Upon arrival, first responders noticed smoke coming from the eaves of the home. As the fire quickly spread, it broke through the roof, prompting interior crews to launch an aggressive attack and contain most of the flames within minutes. The situation escalated rapidly, leading to the activation of a Box Alarm, which brought in mutual aid from nearly a dozen neighboring fire departments. Despite the challenging weather conditions, emergency personnel worked efficiently to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading further. Several photos captured the intensity of the scene, including flames bursting through the roof, firefighters operating from a tower ladder, and emergency vehicles responding under heavy rain.
