Structure fire in Harvey, 3/12/15

The Harvey Fire Department responded to a full-scale fire early this morning at 10 W. 147th Street, where a tire storage facility caught fire. The incident occurred around 10 a.m., and local firefighters were quickly on the scene. According to reports from ChicagoTribune.com, the blaze broke out at a tire shop located near 147th Street and Ashland Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found that one of the buildings on the property was fully engulfed in flames. Due to the intensity of the fire, crews opted for a defensive strategy, working from outside the structure to prevent the fire from spreading further. The location had previously been home to a lumber yard before being converted into a tire storage facility. Photos by Tim Olk captured the dramatic scene, showing emergency vehicles and a large E-ONE tower ladder deployed at the site. One image shows the building partially collapsed after the intense fire, while others highlight the efforts of first responders as they worked to control the situation. Multiple fire engines were seen on the scene, with red and black units clearly visible among the emergency response. This is the latest in a series of fires reported in the area, prompting concerns about safety and fire prevention measures. Local officials are expected to provide more details as the investigation continues. For now, residents nearby are advised to stay alert and follow any updates from local authorities.
