This is from Larry Shapiro:
Here are a few more photos of the new Battalion 6 for Hoffman Estates. I was told that this unit was actually designed before the new Squad 22. It's equipped with SCBA gear for the Battalion Chief, a Lucas tool, rehab supplies, and a variety of other tools and equipment. The vehicle seems to be built for versatility and quick response in different situations.

It’s interesting to see how these units are evolving to meet the needs of modern fire departments. This Battalion 6 looks like it’s built for both efficiency and functionality. I can imagine it being used in a variety of scenarios, from routine calls to larger incidents where extra equipment is needed. The inclusion of rehab supplies also shows a growing emphasis on firefighter safety and well-being during operations. Definitely a great addition to the fleet.
Polystyrene is a synthetic polymer made from monomers of the aromatic hydrocarbon styrene. GPPS Resin can be solid or foamed. General-purpose polystyrene is clear, hard, and brittle. It is an inexpensive resin per unit weight. It is a poor barrier to oxygen and water vapour and has a relatively low melting point. Polystyrene is one of the most widely used plastics, the scale of its production being several million tonnes per year. Polystyrene can be naturally transparent, but can be colored with colorants. Uses include protective packaging, containers, lids, bottles, trays, tumblers, disposable cutlery, in the making of models, and as an alternative material for phonograph records.
