Netherlands R & D without power sensor will change the Internet of Things

As sensors, smart computing and microprocessor technology flourish, the world of connected things is gradually being implemented in you and my life. The Internet of Things is a trend, but there is still a problem that is facing the battery. The current battery life of these devices is usually not very good, mainly because of the internal components to be used too much electricity.

But recently a researcher from the Netherlands came up with a new solution that invented a miniature wireless temperature sensor with only 2 square millimeters, and the power supply of this sensor comes from the radio waves of the wireless network, The nearby route gets its power automatically, and once it's power-up it's time to get started without having the internal battery power it up.

Now, the effective working range of this sensor is less than 1 inch and is not yet practical yet, but fortunately, the researchers' work continues. They hope to expand the effective range to 10 feet in a year, The ultimate goal is 16 feet.

If the network brings enough waves, this invisible sensor can be applied to all smart home devices. In addition, the cost of this sensor is very low, as long as 20 cents, so we do not have to worry about using this technology equipment costs will rise dramatically.

MACOR Machinable Glass Ceramic

Machinable glass ceramic

Is a highly electrical insulating, heat insulating, vacuum tight composite material of glass and

ceramics. It is machinable with common tungsten carbide or high speed steel cutting tools by turning, milling, drilling and

sawing. Due to the machinability, customers can produce the ceramic parts in their own common workshop or laboratory, mainly for

applications as electrical insulators, vacuum components, etc. Different sizes of standard length or customers' parts are available

Macor

Feature:

a) Is machinable with ordinary metal working tools.

b) Allows fast turnaround,no post firing required.

c) Holds tight tolerances, up to .0005"

d) Withstands high temperature, up to 800

e) Is clean, no outgasing and zero porosity

Machinable glass ceramic application :

a) Electrical or thermal insulator

b) Structural components

c) Semi-conductor processing

d) Electrical and opto-electronic equipment

e) Many other uses.
