According to Christopher Son, a spokesperson for the American Axle Manufacturing Company, to Automotive News, after the closure of the factory, the work of about 300 hourly wage workers and normal payroll workers will be affected.
The report said that the American Axle hopes to reduce the salary subsidies for the factory workers from the previous 45 US dollars per hour to 30 US dollars per hour. At present, it is not yet possible to contact UAW and American Axle to confirm this news.
