First determine if your monitoring server is a fixed IP or dynamic IP. The fixed IP is the IP that you apply for to Telecom or China Unicom will not change. This kind of service is generally expensive to use, and few customers use it. Dynamic IP is ADSL dial-up Internet access, which is what we usually call broadband dial-up Internet access. This kind of IP dial-up connection every time, IP is changing, dynamic IP needs to apply for dynamic domain name service, dynamic domain name service is known as peanut shell and 3322, Both domain name service providers have provided free dynamic domain name service. The stability of domain names is good. Individuals prefer to use 3322. Both domain name services have free and paid versions. The stability of the service version is better. Two types of paid versions are available. The difference lies in the number of second-level domain names, 3322 provides more secondary domain names, and peanut shell provides less, here we recommend that you use the fee version, stability is much stronger, save a lot of after-sales trouble.

The troubleshooting method first determines that your router's port mapping settings are correct and that the dynamic domain name forwarding settings are correct and have not been changed by customers. Here we need to use a ping command, first ping your dynamic domain name resolution is normal, the use of ping command, the bottom left corner of the computer desktop - run - enter cmd - OK, jump out of the command input box, piing domain name + port . Pay attention to adding a space bar between the ping command and the domain name. First of all, we analyze the reasons for the normal domain name resolution, enter your dynamic domain name address plus port in IE browser, if you are using the 80 port, you can directly enter the dynamic domain name, using the other port needs domain name behind the port access, here Take port 81 as an example. Before entering the domain name, please set up your IE browser Activex plug-in. The setting method is: Open Internet Explorer, select "Tools" menu -> "Internet Options" -> "Security" Label, and then select the "custom level", "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" in the "download signed Activex controls", "Run Activex controls" and other settings to "enable", click OK, please restart the IE browser. After IE is set up, we can enter the domain name to access. If successful access will prompt you to install the control, you can open the remote monitor screen normally after installing the control. If we can't connect, we need to try it out through IP access. The method is http://IP address:81. The IP here refers to the external IP address of the monitoring server obtained by the ping command in Figure 1. Get two kinds of situations, a kind of external network IP can connect normally, it is your dynamic domain name service provider there is a problem, consult them to help you solve. One is that the IP address of the external network cannot be connected and continues to be investigated.

Secondly, we have to analyze the reasons why domain names cannot be pinged and cannot be connected via external IP. This situation requires us to go to the internal network where the surveillance video recorder is located to investigate. The investigation method is to monitor the internal network IP address of the video recorder on the same network segment under the same router in the surveillance video recorder. For example, the intranet IP of the surveillance video recorder is 192.168.1.2. Use the ping command we mentioned earlier. Ping this IP address to see if there is a return TTL. Can ping, please check your video recorder or router dynamic domain name settings and port mapping is correct. If the ping fails, check whether your video recorder or computer can be connected to the network. Whether the two hosts are located in the same network segment, are under the same router, and are under the same switch. Whether there are other computers in the intranet virus, resulting in intranet IP conflicts, it is recommended that each computer is equipped with anti-virus software.

Basically, the above methods can be used for troubleshooting. In my experience, the monitoring host is best to specify the intranet IP address and do not automatically obtain the IP address. Another method is to restore the router and recorder to initialization, re-configure port mapping and domain name resolution. None of the above methods can solve your problem. Consider replacing router and recorder tests.
