At present, the market share of domestic two-machine internal combustion engine enterprises exceeds 90%, supporting domestically produced passenger cars, mini-cars, light-duty vehicles, passenger cars, trucks, various types of engineering and agricultural machinery, and ships.

With the intensification of competition in the domestic market, the Matthew effect of the two-machine industry began to appear. Leading enterprises have gradually formed their own advantages, especially those enterprises that are wholly foreign-owned enterprises and have joint ventures with foreign-funded enterprises. The market has expanded rapidly and become the main suppliers of China's passenger car and commercial vehicle internal combustion engine, such as Shanghai Law. Leo, Jinzhou Halla, Hubei Shendian, Beijing Petra and so on. A small number of enterprises with core technology rely on their strong capital strength and keen market insight to rapidly rise in the industry, occupying the main markets of China's mini-cars, such as Chongqing Bonnet, Chengdu Huachuan, Ningbo Yuanzhou and so on.

These companies have seen broad prospects for the future of China's automotive and internal combustion engine markets. The investment is seriously dispersed, the equipment is outdated, and the technology is backward. Many enterprises do not have the necessary testing equipment. The consequences of decentralized operations are low levels of duplication of backward products, unreliable product quality, price confusion, and counterfeit and shoddy products flooding the aftermarket. In particular, the localized manufacturing of generator voltage regulators, bearings, starter electromagnetic switches and other components can not keep up with the demand, and the generator voltage regulators and rectifiers for medium and high-end passenger cars are mainly imported.
Affected by the rising price of raw materials and the profit margin of the OEMs of the OEMs, the profitability of the two-machine enterprises has seriously declined, seriously affecting the healthy development of the two-machine industry.

Experts pointed out that the two-machine enterprises should improve the technical content and reliability of key component products as soon as possible. The main engine factory should help key component companies to develop in the direction of high level, specialization, serialization and mass production, especially to build the starter one-way clutch, electromagnetic switch, key parts of high-power deceleration starter and generator voltage. Independent research and development and specialized production bases for component assemblies such as regulators and electronic rectifiers.
