Yangfan Group tackles the construction technology of automobile ro-ro ship

Recently, under the leadership of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Yangfan Group and the Shanghai Ship Technology Research Institute carried out key technical research on large-scale vehicle construction, and formulated a construction process for a large-scale automobile ro-ro ship, and declared 4 related patents.

The technology solves the key technologies such as the closed construction process and the active deck production/installation/debugging process for the hull sheet segmentation. The project improves the steel utilization rate by 1% and effectively shortens the dock construction period.

At present, the provincial key science and technology project (priority theme) social development project undertaken by Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yangfan Group, has been reviewed by experts from the Provincial Science and Technology Department. The 5000-car-car transport ship was first approved by the German Lloyd's Register and has been delivered. The ship's construction period is only three months at the dock, and it is far ahead in the domestic construction period of the same ship type, comparable to Japan and South Korea.

The construction of high-tech, high value-added automobile ro-ro ships plays an important role in improving the overall technical level of the shipbuilding industry, improving product structure, achieving industrial upgrading, and enhancing comprehensive competitiveness. The successful implementation of the project marks that the shipbuilding level and comprehensive strength of the Yangfan Group have achieved new improvements, which has important and far-reaching significance for the long-term development of the company itself and the transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry in our city.
