The "Natural Gas Bus Application and Development Seminar" was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia, last month. It is understood that Shangchai started natural gas engine project in 1998. In 2005, Shangchai Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engine won the "BAAV Best Engine of the Year" award from the World Bus Association. In 2007, Shanghai Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. took the lead to pass the Euro IV emission level certification.

In the actual operation of bus companies such as Jinlong, Yutong, Huanghai and Shenwo, as well as public transport companies such as Yinchuan, Urumqi, Shanghai Volkswagen, and Chengdu, this engine is comparable to imported engines of the same type and is indispensable. Relevant information shows that Shangchai's natural gas engines are not only used for supporting large and medium-sized bus and intercity buses, but also sell heavy trucks such as Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck and Chongqing Hongyan. Thanks to its technical strength and cost-effectiveness, Shangchao's tentacles have now penetrated into overseas markets and have been exported to Thailand, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian countries in batches.
